Load carriage scalability, streamlining & connectivity
A scalable load carriage system designed for forward operators who need to scale up quickly the amount of carried equipment. It lessens material redundancies through a hub mount on the back of the blast belt that connects to the base of the rucksack. This eliminates the need for a cummerbund on the rucksack, using the blast belt instead, reducing material weight, bulkiness and making the donning and doffing process of the ruck faster and easier.
Materials & Construction
This system lays the future groundwork for a quick-disconnect system for power and data through the mounting hub, allowing for fast connectivity between items worn on the chest to those in the rucksack. Future load carriage systems will not only transport weight on the body more efficiently, they will also help better transmit power and data connectivity from one worn device to another. This will facilitate a more integrated body-worn network, connecting various devices on the body.
Rucksack Hub
Designed with integration in mind, this quick-release hub allows for the rapid dawn and deployment of any rucksack utilizing the system’s male attachment.
The hub loops into the MOLE loop of the wearer’s blast belt, dispersing the pack weight into the hips.
Vest Sternum Tensioning Strap
- Keeps ruck shoulder straps in the correct position and stabilizes the pack
- Option A – sternum strap lies under vest front, material bunches
- Option B – shoulder strap captures slide in tracks on vest to adjust load
